From Stalk to Finished material

Cultivation and harvest

We work with local farmers to grow industrial hemp specifically for its strong stalks. Once the plants are ready, they’re harvested at the right time to ensure consistent, high-quality material.

Separate the stalk

After harvest, hemp stalks are mechanically processed through decortication, a method that separates the woody inner core from the outer fibers. This process produces hemp hurd, the natural material used for animal bedding.

Form & mold the blocks

The processed hemp hurd is blended with a lime-based binder & water, then placed into molds. Each block is carefully formed by hand to ensure consistent shape, density, and performance.

Curing

Once molded, the blocks are left to cure under controlled conditions. During this time, the lime binder hardens and begins to mineralize, strengthening the block without synthetic additives.

Quality check & delivery

After curing, each batch is inspected for consistency and performance. The finished blocks are then prepared for palletizing and delivery, ready for installation on-site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is hemp fiber?

Hemp fiber is the strong outer “bast” fiber found in the stalk of the industrial hemp plant. It is known for its tensile strength, durability, and versatility across manufacturing and textile applications.

What can hemp fiber be used for?

Hemp fiber is used in composites, rope and cordage, insulation materials, non-woven textiles, paper products, and specialty manufacturing applications where natural reinforcement is needed.

Can this fiber be used for textiles?

Yes — hemp fiber is widely used in textile production. However, our current fiber specification is designed primarily for industrial and composite applications and is not yet optimized for fine apparel-grade textiles.

Is hemp fiber what rope is made from?

Yes. Hemp has historically been used to produce strong, durable rope and cordage due to its natural tensile strength and resistance to wear.

How is hemp fiber sustainable?

Industrial hemp is a fast-growing crop that requires relatively low inputs and can be processed into durable materials, making it a renewable alternative to many synthetic or wood-based fibers.

Is hemp fiber treated with chemicals?

Our hemp fiber is mechanically processed from the stalk and does not require synthetic chemical treatments to achieve strength or performance.
